Policy and Strategy is a course designed to introduce the student to the concepts and tools of strategic management and to strategic decision making. It will help you understand the role of the strategic management process in shaping the character, direction, and performance of business firms. The course is designed to examine in detail the analytical, behavioral, and creative aspects of the formation and execution of business decisions
MGT 443 Compensation & Benefits 3 Credits

This course will provide students with an understanding of current and emerging issues in employee compensation, as well as a working knowledge of accepted compensation practices. This course will contain an international perspective, focusing predominantly on domestic, expatriate, and foreign national compensation within international American Corporations

MGT412 ORGANIZATIONAL THEORY & BEHAVIOR 3 CREDITS

The organization is studied from both the macro and micro perspective by targeting on organizational structure and organizational interactions. The dynamics and links of individuals, groups and environment are analyzed through examination of alternative organization theories. The purpose is to highlight the determinants of organizational effectiveness relating to strategies, inter-organizational systems, boundary spanning, networks, change, conflict, job satisfaction, and governance.

MGT 321 BUSINESS ETHICS 3 Credits

Recent scandals in the world of business such as those at Enron, the Bernie Madoff scandal, WorldCom and the World Bank etc., tell us that even in the world of business there is a lot more at stake than making profits. The course studies the ethical environment of business by looking at current issues confronting decision makers (managers). Students will investigate some ethical issues with decisions complicated by issues of legality, fairness and social responsibility, as well as personal conscience and consequential or duty based ethical issues. The course relies on discussion, reading research and case analysis to achieve the goal of relating ethics to decision making.

Managing human capital in the new economy is a challenge all business professionals face. This course addresses that challenge by retaining its unique orientation to overall practicality and real-world application incorporating technology, teams and virtual learning methods. Practical tips and suggestions provide effective ways of dealing with problems in communication, leadership, discipline, performance appraisal, labor relations, and compensation administration.
