MGT 321 BUSINESS ETHICS 3 Credits

Recent scandals in the world of business such as those at Enron, the Bernie Madoff scandal, WorldCom and the World Bank etc., tell us that even in the world of business there is a lot more at stake than making profits. The course studies the ethical environment of business by looking at current issues confronting decision makers (managers). Students will investigate some ethical issues with decisions complicated by issues of legality, fairness and social responsibility, as well as personal conscience and consequential or duty based ethical issues. The course relies on discussion, reading research and case analysis to achieve the goal of relating ethics to decision making.
